I did these, it works for me: Using "Altium_Designer_6_Patch_And_LicGen_LOE.rar" 1. Open license.ini with Notepad and edit parameters (for example Your Name). If you don't know what some options means then don't edit anything.
2. Use AD6_LicGen.exe with the following parameters
AD6_LicGen -l [in_file.ini] [out_file.alf]
for example
Ad6_licGen -l license.ini license.alf
3. Put license.alf into Altium Designer 6 installation directory and use LOE generic patch to patch the DXP.exe

No. Altium Designer has evolved from Protel pcb design software, the last version of which was Protel 99SE with servicepack 6. PCAD is another PCB design software package provided by Altium.

If you have P-CAD 2006 and Altium Designer installed on the same machine, you can use Designer's Situs autorouter from within P-CAD. Install Designer first, then P-CAD.
Some people, Russians in particular, like P-CAD best while the Chinese seem to prefer the Protel/Altium product.

CHC.zip
and then the patch
Altium_Designer_6.x.xxxx.rar
And it worked well with XP SP2, so you can give it a try.

I noticed on first start-up that it hung there, too. I gave it a couple of minutes and it proceeded to complete loading and ran fine afterwards. Pulsonix does the same thing the first time its run after installation. Hangs there on the splash screen for 30 - 60 seconds. Makes you really think the system is hung but it has always completed loading for me. |

Regarding the message "1: Crypto API error" when you run AD6_LicGen.exe I got it too.
After debugging the application with OllyDbg I came to the conclusion it failed because there were no
cryptographic containers created on the machine. This can be the case with freshly installed Windows.
I've included a patched AD6_LicGen.exe renamed to AD6_LicGenInit.exe that create these containers and will not fail execution.

Did you notice that the crack reports that the patching was not done but in fact the DXP.exe is modified by one byte and a backup made? I tried the attached license file found on the net and it worked with that crack, also. Anyone know if there is a functional difference between the .alf files or just the user-editable data like serial number and licensee name? Any way to decrypt the .alf? Yes, I had just reloaded my machine with a clean install of XP SP2 and all updates just prior to trying the keygen. (I made an Acronis image and restore the machine about once a week to keep it malware-free and speedy.) How are these cryptographic containers formed on a "well used" machine? What was special about the "CHC Enabled" license file. I remember someone asking for a feature to be enabled in Designer but can't seem to find the post with the board's search function. |

The slight advantage I see is that you can generate a license with your name in it so as to fool others that you actually have a legitimate license. Such as if you are a business owner and do not want your clients or employees to know that the software is bootleg. Can anyone think of another reason?
Otherwise, just using the "CHC" license and the "Altium Designer 6.x.xxxx.rar" crack works just as well, does it not?
Remember, you can generate the license in a VMware virtual machine and then revert to a snapshot. Thereby completely isolating yourself from the danger of a virus or trojan.
