The new XMEGA has been released

But i don't think its available in large quantities yet

But looks nice DMA + 5..8 Serial + DES/AES crypto engine

but I'm very suprised that XMEGA not support SPI programming. Xmega supports 2-pin programing interface PDI (Program and Debug Interface) JTAG.

Xmega has 2 to 4 SPI channels.

and 2 12-bit dacs along with 16 A2D channels in a 64-pin package.... Now michrochip has got to prepare for leaving the field to AVR....
